Full Time Police Officer and Full Time Police Assistant - Recruitment for full time positions are filled through the Dutchess County Department of Personnel recruitment-testing program. Part Time Police Officer – Candidates should possess a current police officer certification from New York State DCJS. This includes police officers that retired within the past 3 years. Part Time Police Assistant – The primary duty of the Police Assistant is that of dispatcher. The Police Assistant also performs various clerical duties. Candidate for part time police assistant should be willing to work weekends and overnight tours. Prior dispatching experience is preferred but not necessary. Part Time Civilian Patrol Officer - Responsibilities include traffic direction and parking enforcement. The Civilian Patrol Officer also assists with dispatcher duties.
