The Wappingers Falls Police Department has created a Quality of Life Unit to address neighborhood concerns. Each neighborhood in the village has an officer who will work with residents to find solutions to quality of life problems. The role of the neighborhood officer shifts from traditional incident driven law enforcement to facilitator and problem solver.
When a problem cannot be suitably resolved by routine patrol response, or when the problem repeatedly surfaces, the Neighborhood Officer is brought in to find a solution. If the problem would better handled by a different village department or other agency your neighborhood officer will help find the right agency for referral and work in cooperation with those other resources to solve the problem.
Residents are urged to contact their neighborhood police officers by calling the department at 297-1011 or email your neighborhood officer to discuss any concerns or simply to get to know your neighborhood officer.
