11/30/2008 Larceny From Vehicle  E-mail
An East Main Street resident reports that on November 30 at about 11AM he was bringing groceries from his vehicle to his apartment. Upon return to his vehicle he discovered that items had been stolen from his vehicle.
 
11/28/2008 Trespass Arrest  E-mail
At about 12:25AM on November 28 a Dutchess Terrace resident reported that two young males wearing hooded sweatshirts were trying to break in to his car. A 16 year old village youth fitting the description was located by the responding officer. After investigation the youth was charged with trespass.
 
11/28/2008 Items Stolen From Vehicles  E-mail

On November 28,2008 Wappingers Falls Police received eight reports of items being stolen from parked vehicles. The items stolen included cash, ipods, and gps systems. All except one vehicle was left unlocked. The larcenies occurred on Spring Street, Roy Avenue, Hillside Avenue, Dutchess Avenue, Brown Avenue, Prospect Street and Mill Street.

Residents are encouraged to remove all items of value and secure their vehicle.

On 11/25/2008 a 19 year old Town of Wappinger man was arrested by members of the Wappingers Falls Police Department for Driving While Intoxicated.At approximately 8:46 AM the Wappingers Falls Police were dispatched investigate a motor vehicle accident on West Main Street. A vehicle had driven into a building located at 2696 West Main Street. Through investigation officers determined that the driver was intoxicated at the time of the accident. The driver was found to have a Blood Alcohol Content in excess of the legal limit of .08. He was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor, as well as Failure to Keep Right, a traffic violation. Driver was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear for arraignment on 12/16/2008 in the Village of Wappingers Falls Court.

On 11/24/2008 a 23 year old Poughkeepsie man was arrested by members of the Wappingers Falls Police Department. The man was offering bootleg movies on DVD and bootleg music CDs for sale in the area of West Main Street and Givans Avenue. Sixty-one bootleg music CDs and sixty-nine bootleg DVD movies were taken as evidence. During his arrest a small amount of Marijuana was recovered. The man was charged with Manufacture of Unauthorized Recordings in the 2nd degree and Manufacture or Sale of an Unauthorized Recording of a Performance in the 2nd degree both class A misdemeanors. He was also charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation. He was released on appearance tickets and $300 bail and is scheduled to appear for arraignment on 12/16/2008 in the Village of Wappingers Falls Court.
