At about 12AM Wappingers Falls Police were dispatched to Kitty McGuires Bar and Grill to investigate a report of a drug overdose. Upon arrival officers found a 35 year old Town of Poughkeepsie man complaining that he felt ill after doing drugs. The subject was transported to Saint Francis Hospital and released. Subject was found to be in possesion of cocaine and was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controled Substance, an A Misdemeanor. |

On January 9, 2009 at about 1145PM Officer Sal Rosso stopped a vehicle on Route 9 for driving without headlights on. Upon investigation it was determined that the driver of the vehicle was intoxicated. Timothy MacDonald, 37 years of age, of Marlboro NY was charged with DWI, Driving with more than .08bac. Macdonald was released without bail |

 On December 6, 2008 officers from the Wappingers Falls Police Department conducted a food drive at the Stop and Shop on Route 9. The officers took donations of food from 8AM to 4PM. The drive was a success. Two police vehicles were filled with food for needy families. The food was divided and given to the food pantries of several Village of Wappingers Falls Churches.  |

On December 3,2008 at about 11:45PM the Wappingers Falls Police were dispatched to investigate a suspicious vehicle at Imperial Gardens. Upon investigation a 20 year old male from the City of Poughkeepsie was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation. |

An East Main Street resident reports that on November 30 at about 11AM he was bringing groceries from his vehicle to his apartment. Upon return to his vehicle he discovered that items had been stolen from his vehicle. |

At about 12:25AM on November 28 a Dutchess Terrace resident reported that two young males wearing hooded sweatshirts were trying to break in to his car. A 16 year old village youth fitting the description was located by the responding officer. After investigation the youth was charged with trespass. |

On November 28,2008 Wappingers Falls Police received eight reports of items being stolen from parked vehicles. The items stolen included cash, ipods, and gps systems. All except one vehicle was left unlocked. The larcenies occurred on Spring Street, Roy Avenue, Hillside Avenue, Dutchess Avenue, Brown Avenue, Prospect Street and Mill Street. Residents are encouraged to remove all items of value and secure their vehicle. |

On 11/25/2008 a 19 year old Town of Wappinger man was arrested by members of the Wappingers Falls Police Department for Driving While Intoxicated.At approximately 8:46 AM the Wappingers Falls Police were dispatched investigate a motor vehicle accident on West Main Street. A vehicle had driven into a building located at 2696 West Main Street. Through investigation officers determined that the driver was intoxicated at the time of the accident. The driver was found to have a Blood Alcohol Content in excess of the legal limit of .08. He was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor, as well as Failure to Keep Right, a traffic violation. Driver was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear for arraignment on 12/16/2008 in the Village of Wappingers Falls Court. |

On 11/24/2008 a 23 year old Poughkeepsie man was arrested by members of the Wappingers Falls Police Department. The man was offering bootleg movies on DVD and bootleg music CDs for sale in the area of West Main Street and Givans Avenue. Sixty-one bootleg music CDs and sixty-nine bootleg DVD movies were taken as evidence. During his arrest a small amount of Marijuana was recovered. The man was charged with Manufacture of Unauthorized Recordings in the 2nd degree and Manufacture or Sale of an Unauthorized Recording of a Performance in the 2nd degree both class A misdemeanors. He was also charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation. He was released on appearance tickets and $300 bail and is scheduled to appear for arraignment on 12/16/2008 in the Village of Wappingers Falls Court. |

A 19 year old Wappingers Falls man reports that he was struck in the back of the head and had 25 dollars removed from his pocket. The man reports that he was walking his dog in the area of Franklindale and Clapp Avenue at about 11PM on November 23 when the attack occurred. Anyone with information that could assist in the investigation is asked to call the Wappingers Falls Detectives at 297-1011. |

On November 22, 2008 at about 1:10AM Wappingers Falls Police stopped a vehicle for driving with a headlight out. Investigation revealed that the operator was driving while intoxicated The driver was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated (misdemeanor), Driving With a Suspended License ( misdemeanor) and Unlawful Possession of marijuana (Violation). The driver is due in court onDec 11, 2008. |

Members of the Wappingers Falls Police Department Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit conducted safety inspections on Friday November 21, 2008. The inspection resulted in 25 summonses being issued to unsafe trucks traveling on Village Streets. 2 trucks were taken out of service when inspection revealed unsafe brakes, tires and load securement. |

On November 20, 2008 at about 4:00PM Wappingers Falls Police stopped a vehicle on Route 9 for safety violations. Upon investigation the driver was found to be in possession of Oxycontin. The driver was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, a misdemeanor. The driver was released on $50 bail, due in court on December 11, 2008. |

A Stormville woman reports that her purse was stolen from her vehicle while it was parked at Dutchess Community College South on November 19, 2008. The theft occurred between 3:00 PM and 6:20PM. The vehicle had been left unlocked. Larceny is being investigated by Wappingers Falls Detectives. |
